Since 1987, Dance Precisions has been Orange County's premier destination for dance education. Now in our 38th season, we serve dancers ages 2–18 across a full spectrum of training — from our Little Dancin' Shoes program for our youngest movers, to recreational Academy classes, Performance Teams, and championship-winning Competition Teams.

Our 20,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim Hills features six spacious studios with professional-grade sprung floors, and we offer classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, K-Pop, and Tumbling. Our alumni have gone on to perform on Broadway, in film and television, and on tour with artists like Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift.

We believe time spent in the studio shapes more than dancers: it develops confident, creative, and capable young people. Our research-backed curriculum integrates technique, artistry, injury-prevention conditioning, and leadership development.

Our Culture

The Role

Our Little Dancin' Shoes program is where most of our families first fall in love with dance. Serving ages 2 through 5, the program introduces movement, music, and structure through Twinkle Toes (jazz), Happy Feet (tap and jazz combo), Boppin' Shoes (hip hop), Twirl & Tumble (ballet), and Tumbling. The Kids Program Teacher is responsible for delivering warm, well-paced classes across this curriculum that build foundational skills, age-appropriate confidence, and a lasting love of dance.

A typical week includes a mix of these classes across multiple weekdays and possibly Saturdays. You'll work closely with the Little Dancin' Shoes Director on curriculum and class progression, coordinate with our front desk team on family communication, and partner with the broader faculty during recital season. What makes this role distinctive is the chance to be the very first dance teacher many of our students will ever have, setting the tone for their entire dance journey.

This role reports to the Little Dancin' Shoes Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach across the Little Dancin' Shoes curriculum — Deliver age-appropriate classes across our Little Dancin' Shoes styles — Twinkle Toes, Happy Feet, Boppin' Shoes, Twirl & Tumble, and Tumbling — adjusting your approach for the developmental differences between 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and 4 to 5-year-olds.
• Plan classes that build skill and stay fun — Each class should follow a clear structure with warm-up, skill-building, and creative play, balancing structure with the energy and attention spans of young dancers. Classes should feel joyful while still teaching real fundamentals.
• Deliver clear, age-appropriate feedback — Give every dancer specific, actionable feedback that meets them where they are. Even at this age, dancers deserve to be seen, corrected with care, and celebrated for real growth, not just generic praise.
• Show up on time, every time — Arrive a minimum of 10 minutes prior to class start, prepared and ready to teach. When a conflict is unavoidable, you are responsible for securing a qualified substitute teacher in advance and getting them vetted and approved by studio leadership before the class.
• Communicate proactively with parents and staff — Greet parents at drop-off and pick-up, share specific feedback about their child's progress, and keep families informed about expectations, costumes, rehearsals, and recital logistics. Respond to parent and front-desk inquiries promptly and professionally. Clear, consistent communication is non-negotiable.
• Participate fully in the rehearsal and recital process — Attend rehearsals, dress runs, and recital weekend. Coordinate with the choreography team, music, costume decisions, and stage logistics so every dancer in your classes is prepared and supported on performance day.

Qualifications

Required

• Teaching experience with young children — Prior experience teaching dance, movement, gymnastics, or early childhood education to ages 2 through 5. You understand the rhythms of working with toddlers and pre-K dancers and can keep classes structured without losing the joy.
• Multi-style versatility — Solid foundation in jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, and/or tumbling, with the ability and willingness to teach across the full Little Dancin' Shoes curriculum. Strong classroom management skills with young dancers.
• Availability and presence — Available weekday afternoons/evenings (4 PM to 7:30 PM range) and select Saturday mornings, with full availability through recital season. Comfortable working directly with young children and their parents, and reliable in showing up on time and prepared.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass a background check (required for all staff working with minors).

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Certifications in early childhood education, CPR/First Aid, or related areas; bilingual Spanish.
• Prior experience teaching at a structured dance studio with recital and performance components.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: Hourly, commensurate with experience.
