About Dance Precisions
Since 1987, Dance Precisions has been Orange County's premier destination for dance education. Now in our 38th season, we serve dancers ages 2–18 across a full spectrum of training — from our Little Dancin' Shoes program for our youngest movers, to recreational Academy classes, Performance Teams, and championship-winning Competition Teams.
Our 20,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim Hills features six spacious studios with professional-grade sprung floors, and we offer classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, K-Pop, and Tumbling. Our alumni have gone on to perform on Broadway, in film and television, and on tour with artists like Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift.
We believe time spent in the studio shapes more than dancers: it develops confident, creative, and capable young people. Our research-backed curriculum integrates technique, artistry, injury-prevention conditioning, and leadership development.
Our Culture
We take quality seriously. In a crowded industry, it's easy to find a studio that teaches choreography; it's harder to find one that teaches dance. We're technique-first, we build fundamentals the right way, even when it's less flashy — because that's what gives our dancers the range to succeed anywhere they go next, whether that's a college program, a Broadway stage, or a world tour. We hire experienced professionals who can deliver real, structured training at every level, and we hold ourselves and our students to the standards we set.
We're equally serious about the experience we provide. Our goal is the best customer experience in the industry. That means a studio that's run professionally: accurate schedules, clear and consistent communication, and a facility (lobby, studios, café, front desk) that reflects the care we ask our dancers to bring to their work.
Our team reflects the same standards. Faculty lift each other up. We expect excellence and celebrate it when we see it. We invest in our people's growth, and many of our staff and families have been with us for years, some for decades. If you're the kind of person who takes pride in doing the work well and wants to be around others who do the same, you'll fit in here.
The Role
Tumbling and acro are foundational skills for our dancers across every program, from Little Dancin' Shoes through advanced Company. The Tumbling / Acro Teacher is responsible for delivering safe, progression-based instruction across beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, building dancers who can execute clean skills with confidence and control.
A typical week includes teaching tumbling and acro classes across multiple levels and age groups. You'll work closely with the Studio Director on programming, partner with our other faculty on cross-training Company dancers, and coordinate with the front desk team on scheduling and family communication. Safety is the foundation of everything in this role — every progression, every spot, every skill.
This role reports to the Studio Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach tumbling and acro across levels — Deliver progression-based classes from beginner through advanced. Skills should build on a solid foundation — conditioning, body awareness, basic positions — before moving into more advanced tumbling passes and acro tricks.
- Spot and progress skills safely — Safety is non-negotiable. Use proper spotting technique, follow established progression sequences, and never push a dancer to a skill they're not physically prepared for. Maintain mats, equipment, and studio space to safe standards.
- Deliver detailed, technique-focused feedback — Give every dancer specific, actionable corrections on form, alignment, and execution. Generic praise is not enough. Our families expect their dancers to be seen, corrected, and grown safely.
- Show up on time, every time — Arrive a minimum of 10 minutes prior to class start, prepared and ready to teach. When a conflict is unavoidable, you are responsible for securing a qualified substitute teacher in advance and getting them vetted and approved by studio leadership before the class.
- Communicate proactively with students, parents, and staff — Keep families informed about progress, expectations, skill progressions, and any safety considerations. Respond to parent and front-desk inquiries promptly and professionally. Clear, consistent communication is non-negotiable.
- Support cross-training across the studio — Partner with company directors and other faculty to integrate tumbling and acro skills into competition and recital choreography where appropriate. Be a resource for our broader faculty on what skills our dancers can safely execute.
Qualifications
Required
- Tumbling and acro teaching experience — Prior experience teaching tumbling and/or acro at a dance studio, gymnastics gym, or cheer program across beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Demonstrated track record of safely progressing students through skill levels.
- Skill range and safety credentials — Solid personal technique through advanced tumbling skills (handsprings, tucks, layouts, twisting, etc.) and acro positions. Current CPR/First Aid certification. Acrobatic Arts certification, USAG safety certification, or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Availability and presence — Available weekday afternoons/evenings and select Saturdays, with full availability through recital and competition season. Comfortable working with dancers from age 3 through teen and physically able to spot skills safely.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a background check (required for all staff working with minors).
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Background as a competitive gymnast, cheerleader, acrobat, or aerial performer.
- Experience choreographing acro skills into dance routines for recital or competition use.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Hourly, commensurate with experience.
What we offer:
- Paid sick leave for all California employees (in accordance with state law)
- Workers' compensation coverage
- Eligibility for the DP Collective Inc. 401(k) plan (per plan eligibility requirements)
- Professional development opportunities and a collaborative faculty culture
